an independent & private roleplay blog for aldrik solaris of the air awakens novels. this blog heavily focuses on plotting and storytelling as its primary form of character study. aldrik is heavily canon compliant. please only interact if we are mutuals only. aldrik has been brought to life by trish, she, 25.

trish, est, 25.
TL;DR. mutuals only. i will only write and engage with my mutuals. this is a mutually exclusive blog for a reason. aldrik is a complicated personality with his own biography. i understand he's an unknown muse so this blog would require extensive conversation and dialogue to write. i am hoping to build some connections and explore more about him with my writing partners!

ONE. This is an independent and private roleplay blog. Meaning, I only interact with mutuals. If I do not follow you back, I ask that you not interact with my in character posts of any kind. This includes ask memes, starter calls, plotting calls, and open starters. If I have followed you, this means I am interested in writing with you and want to plot and develop something.
TWO. This blog is heavily PLOT BASED. I enjoy getting to connect with you as a writer and really sit and discuss what you think your character might be like in a specific verse. I will, of course, engage with ask memes and random things, but I will usually prioritize plotted things for replies or otherwise. As such, this means my writing style takes on a more novel narrative style. I enjoy writing longer things, exploring settings and imagery. Sometimes this can mean some flowery writing, but it's one of the aspects of writing I enjoy most. I also explore internal monologue heavily in addition to scenery and other things. This does not mean matching length is a requirement, as long as I have something to go off of!I'm very friendly and easy to plot with. I do my best to really develop an interesting plot that can involve multiple separate threads and progressing things. Never hesitate to reach out with an idea if anything particularly interests you or express general interest in plotting with me. We can talk on Discord and get something going.
THREE. This blog will be very active, but again I will be prioritizing deeper threads and discussions with your muse. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me and plot. I'd love to teach you about Aldrik's universe or talk lore and listen to you about your character. I do, however, work a full-time job and have other responsibilities so never assume a few days of inactivity means disinterest. It never does!
FOUR. Considering Aldrik is not a very well known muse, please do not assume things about him. I'd prefer you ask me before assuming something or doing something to my character. If it's for the sake of the thread where you feel knowing how my muse would react would help speed things along (anything violent, something he'd retort with, etc) I'm happy to let you know how he'd react. Just do not assume. In most general verses (unless you're familiar with the series and would like to use later canon), Aldrik is going to be arrogant and egotistical. He's not a villain, but he has a large chip on his shoulder. Aldrik shoulders a heavy burden, so he's naturally more guarded. At least, he does in his mind. In the novels, he is a Crown Prince and a fire sorcerer. However, sorcery is seen as something to be feared. People dislike sorcerers and believe them to be freaks of nature. Nonetheless, his family takes advantage of him being a skilled and intelligent sorcerer and enlist him to fight their wars and essentially conquer in battle. As a result, he's developed a complex. He's used to being snippy and guarded to survive. He is also the Crown Prince and carries the burden of family legacy and becoming an Emperor. There is good in him, but he's a turbulent, isolated character at the start of the series, and I will be translating this into my verses. Hopefully this adds context.Again, Aldrik is not a good person. He's not afraid to be rude or antagonistic, or even manipulative to get what he wants. I would not make assumptions about him at the start. It takes a while for him to be vulnerable, and it will likely come as a result of a plotted dynamic (platonic, romantic, familial) to open up. If you're interested in learning why, please let me know and I'm happy to elaborate! Otherwise, you can read about it in my biography.
FIVE. There will be mature themes present, from anything to violence and gore, to mental illnesses, touching on topics such as PTSD. General mature themes will be present, such as alcohol use, drug use, and war. This blog engages heavily with these topics and as such, I will not be tagging everything. Additionally, I am open to writing NSFW for Aldrik, but it will have to be heavily plot based.
important note. for all my most important pookies <3

THE BEGINNING.
Aldrik Solaris was the firstborn child of Empress Fiera Ci’Dan Solaris, a noblewoman of Old Mhashan, and Emperor Solaris, ruler of the most powerful empire on the Crescent Continent. His birth was meant to symbolize unity — the binding of conquered Mhashan to the imperial throne — but it instead gave rise to scandal.Fiera was wed to the Emperor after the conquest of her homeland, and though the union was politically strategic, it was far from beloved. When she died shortly after Aldrik’s birth, rumors quickly spread that the Empress had conceived her son before the marriage. The Emperor never addressed these whispers, and Aldrik grew up under the weight of uncertainty — a prince by name, but one whose legitimacy was forever questioned.HOW ALDRIK GREW UP.
Aldrik spent his early years in Mhashan’s coastal region of Norin, surrounded by a culture steeped in art, flame, and freedom. Mhashani people valued magic as sacred — a living connection to the elements. But when Aldrik was taken to the Southern Capital to be raised among the imperial court, that warmth gave way to formality and fear.Magic, in the Empire, was treated as a tool — powerful, but dangerous and easily corrupted. The discovery of Aldrik’s Firebearer magic was therefore both a blessing and a mark of difference. To the courtiers, it proved his Mhashani blood was strong — too strong, perhaps, for a prince. To the Emperor, it was a weapon to be refined.TRAINING TO BE A SORCERER.
At a young age, Aldrik was sent to the Tower of Sorcerers, an elite institution that trained those born with elemental affinity — Windwalkers (air), Firebearers (fire), Waterrunners (water), and Groundbreakers (earth). He excelled quickly, mastering fire with rare precision. His instructors saw a brilliant, disciplined mind — but also a dangerous intensity. Aldrik was relentless in pursuit of control, pushing his limits until exhaustion, as if trying to burn away the doubts that haunted his birthright. It was in the Tower that Aldrik formed his only true friendship: Larel Neiress, a fellow Firebearer known for her steadiness and compassion. She became his confidante and anchor, softening the sharp edges of his pride. Still, few others dared to approach him. His intelligence, noble blood, and cold demeanor made him as admired as he was feared.OTHER CONTEXT.
Though Aldrik was the Emperor’s firstborn, his place at court was fraught. His half-brother, Prince Baldair, the younger son by another consort, embodied everything the people adored — golden, charming, approachable. In contrast, Aldrik was severe, introverted, and politically calculating. The Emperor valued Baldair’s charisma for diplomacy and Aldrik’s intellect for strategy, but showed affection to neither. To Aldrik, love became synonymous with expectation. His worth was measured in obedience, strength, and victory. He became the Empire’s weapon — a sorcerer-prince whose flames secured borders and silenced rebellion, but whose humanity was slowly consumed by the cost of service.WHERE AND WHO ALDRIK IS NOW.
By adulthood, Aldrik Solaris had earned his title as the Fire Lord, the most powerful Firebearer in the Empire. To his soldiers, he was disciplined and formidable. To his enemies, merciless. And to the court, he remained a mystery — the distant heir who spoke rarely but commanded absolute respect when he did.Beneath that armor of authority, however, lay a man shaped by contradiction:
- A prince born of both conqueror and conquered.
- A sorcerer revered and feared in equal measure.
- A son striving for a father’s approval that would never come.He learned to lead through control, not compassion, believing that emotion was weakness — until a young librarian named Vhalla Yarl crossed his path and began to challenge every certainty he held.
Aldrik Solaris is a man defined by control. Everything about him — his posture, his speech, his discipline — exists in deliberate opposition to the chaos that shaped his life. Born into scandal and raised under suspicion, he learned young that mastery was the only way to survive the Empire’s gaze. To be the perfect prince, the perfect sorcerer, the perfect heir — it was not ambition that drove him, but spite at the whispers of illegitimacy and oppression he's faced his entire life. Over time, the armor he built to protect himself became indistinguishable from the man beneath it.In conversation, Aldrik is concise and exacting, his words chosen with surgical precision. He rarely raises his voice; authority comes to him as naturally as breathing. There is a quiet intensity in him — the kind that draws people in and unsettles them at the same time. To most, he appears cold, calculating, and detached, yet there is an unmistakable presence about him: a weight of thought behind every glance, a spark of conviction behind every command. He is not emotionless, but rather someone who feels too deeply and has spent years learning not to let it show.Aldrik’s intelligence is his greatest weapon and his greatest prison. He sees patterns in everything — political alliances, magical theories, human behavior — and rarely allows impulse to override logic. He plans, anticipates, and controls because spontaneity is dangerous; unpredictability has only ever brought him loss. His father’s court taught him that compassion is weakness, and he internalized that lesson so thoroughly that even his kindness now wears a mask of severity. When he helps others, he does so through action and protection, never comfort or praise. To be openly gentle, in his eyes, is to be vulnerable — and vulnerability invites ruin.Still, under the precision and power, Aldrik is not a cruel man. He carries a deep, if buried, sense of morality. He believes in order, discipline, and the necessity of law — not because he enjoys authority, but because it makes sense in a world that has never offered him mercy. Chaos destroyed his mother, corrupted his family, and turned his childhood into rumor. To him, structure is safety. Justice and reason are the only shields against betrayal. His loyalty, once earned, is absolute; his protection, fierce. Those few who have glimpsed his softer side — Larel Neiress most of all — know the quiet warmth and devastating tenderness he hides from the rest of the world.Despite this, Aldrik’s isolation is largely self-inflicted. He drives others away before they can reject him, mistaking solitude for strength. His brilliance has made him invaluable to the Tower and the Empire, but it has also left him profoundly lonely. He stands apart even among his peers — respected, feared, but never truly known. His half-brother Baldair embodies everything Aldrik is not: open, charming, adored. Their relationship, once close, has withered into formality, and Aldrik has accepted that role — the cold heir, the necessary weapon, the prince the world must obey even if it cannot love.By the time Air Awakens begins (and how I write his personality default in any verse), Aldrik Solaris is a man of contrasts: proud yet uncertain, powerful yet haunted, feared yet quietly aching to be understood. He has learned to measure every emotion against its cost, to value intellect over instinct, and to believe that love and duty cannot coexist. To the outside world, he is the Fire Lord — brilliant, distant, and untouchable. But beneath the armor, there remains a spark of longing — the part of him that still remembers what it means to want, to hope, and to burn for something more than survival.

I spoke for you today… I did not speak before not because I did not care, but because — because, I am not a good man, Vhalla. My voice is more likely to damn you than save you. There are people in this world — in that room — who will hurt you for the sake of hurting me.

Does it shock you? Aren’t you disgusted with your prince? I would’ve been happier watching the flames consume half the damn city to purge the filth, even if it meant sacrificing the good with it. Those are my subjects! People I am sworn to protect!” He threw out his hands. “You’re right, about it all. I wanted you. The moment I found out what you were, I wanted you like a prize to be captured and put on my shelf. And you, Vhalla, you made it so easy to manipulate you to walk right where I wanted you. You, with your transparent innocence.”
the crown prince; a tale of contradictions. a man who wants to be feared yet respected, who grew up learning fear is the only weapon against the cruel nature of his subjects. he, who was conquered, and taught to conquer with his magic and skilled swordcraft. a man who manipulates, who calculates, who acts with precision, yet wants to run an empire justly and in accordance with the law. a man who knows no law for himself yet wants to rule with honesty.
